Project ScopeIndustryStyleThe ChallengeArao creates sustainable, ethically sourced jewelry featuring the natural beauty of Golden South Sea pearls—pieces that deserve to be experienced with the same sense of elegance and intention online as they do in person.
The challenge was to design a Shopify website that felt refined without becoming complicated. We wanted customers to browse effortlessly, appreciate the craftsmanship behind every piece, and move through the shopping journey with confidence. Every design decision needed to reinforce Arao's premium positioning while keeping the user experience clean, intuitive, and distraction-free.
The solutionWe designed a minimalist Shopify experience that lets the jewelry take center stage. A fixed left-hand navigation creates a consistent browsing experience, allowing customers to seamlessly explore collections without losing their place. The clean layout, generous white space, and thoughtful visual hierarchy guide users naturally from discovery to purchase.
Rather than relying on unnecessary visual effects, we focused on clarity, functionality, and timeless design. Every interaction was intentionally crafted to feel effortless—reflecting the quiet luxury, craftsmanship, and authenticity that define the Arao brand.
The result is a premium e-commerce experience that feels as refined as the jewelry itself, making it easy for customers to connect with the story behind each piece while enjoying a seamless shopping journey.

The Pearl Lab
To elevate the online shopping experience, we implemented The Pearl Lab—an interactive Shopify product customizer that allows customers to design a necklace that's uniquely theirs. Shoppers can mix and match their birth month gemstone, preferred 14K gold color, and baroque pearl, with the product preview updating in real time. The result is a seamless, intuitive experience that transforms product personalization into an engaging part of the brand.
