Are We the Right Fit?
Not every studio is the right fit for every founder—and that's okay.
The best partnerships happen when we're aligned in more than just style. We believe shared values, mutual trust, and a genuine connection lead to the best work. Here's a quick way to see if Hark feels like the right place for your next chapter.
We might be right for you if…You started your business with a purpose beyond profit and genuinely care about the people you're here to serve.
You're looking for more than a logo or website—you want clarity around your brand, your direction, and how to move forward with confidence.
You're entering a new season of business and want thoughtful guidance as you navigate growth, change, or a new opportunity.
You believe your business and your personal growth are connected, and you're open to reflecting on both.
You value strategy just as much as design and understand that beautiful brands are built on strong foundations.
You're willing to ask hard questions, challenge assumptions, and explore new possibilities for your business.
You appreciate honest feedback, collaborative conversations, and people who genuinely care about your success.
You value kindness, intentionality, and building a business that supports the life you want to live—not just the other way around.
You're ready to build with purpose, clarity, and long-term sustainability in mind.
We might not be right for you if…You're looking for the fastest or cheapest option. Thoughtful strategy, intentional design, and meaningful growth take time.
You're only looking for someone to execute a predetermined vision. Our process is collaborative, and we bring strategic thinking, creative direction, and honest perspective to every project.
You're looking for a quick fix. While branding, websites, and founder guidance can create incredible momentum, lasting growth requires commitment and follow-through.
You're unwilling to examine what's working, what's not, and where change may be needed. Some of our best work comes from honest conversations and a willingness to explore new perspectives.
Profit is the only measure of success. We believe healthy businesses can pursue both purpose and profit—and that the strongest brands are built on both.
You prefer transactional relationships over collaborative partnerships. We do our best work with founders who value trust, communication, and shared ownership of the process.
You're looking for someone to simply tell you what to do. Our goal isn't to hand you a formula—it's to help you gain the clarity and confidence to make the right decisions for your business.

Female-led Service BusinessesDon't see your industry here? Don't let that stop you. If you think we're a good fit, we'd still love to hear from you.Working with Hark Studio has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for Anaya.
As a fellow mom entrepreneur, Hark truly understands what a growing brand needs. They don’t just create beautiful designs, they help define your brand strategy and identity, giving you clarity on who you are and where you’re going. That foundation has been invaluable in every decision we’ve made.
The entire team is incredibly hands-on, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in the success of their clients. Kara, as Creative Director, is personally involved throughout the process, and her passion and expertise shine through in everything she does.
Hark Studio has played a significant role in Anaya’s growth. They are more than a branding agency they’ve become a true business partner, helping us navigate our journey with confidence and purpose.
What I appreciate most is how easy they are to work with and how aligned we are in the values we uphold. It’s rare to find a team that combines creativity, strategy, and genuine care so well.
Thank you, Hark Studio, for believing in our vision and helping bring it to life. Wishing you and your team even more success and abundant blessings.

Our Version of Voicemails to (Hark)
Hover each dial to read! My journey with Hark goes all the way from when the studio first opened 6 years ago (It was a different name back then and now to Hark!) Ever since I started my business journey, Hark is the only one l've trusted to bring my visions to life. From the branding of La Taza (which just turned 6!) to Apaw Flavor Cafe, AM Pilates, and now Day One Wellness Studio, they have been there every step of the way.
I love how they always perfectly captures what my mind can't execute. But more than just beautiful designs, they have taught me the heart of entrepreneurship: that businesses aren't just there to earn money, but to solve real problems and answer people's needs. Because of them, I learned that a business with a solid strategy will always have a clear direction and stay on track.
They are more than just a designer— They are a visionary strategist and a brilliant collaborator who genuinely cares about their clients' growth.
I'm so incredibly grateful to work hand-in-hand with her through all my ventures. If you want a brand that has both a beautiful face and a solid soul, Hark is the absolute best!
- Monique, Founder of La Taza, Apaw Flavor cafe, 7AM Pilates studio + cafe, Day One Wellness studio|Before I joined Hark Studio, I was a client first.
The team helped bring three of my brands to life, and every single one started with a thoughtful strategy that actually felt like me. They didn't just create beautiful visuals—they built the foundation behind each brand, from positioning and messaging to design and systems, making it so much easier to launch and grow.
What stood out most was how collaborative they were. They genuinely listened, welcomed feedback, and cared about getting every detail right. They became such a trusted creative partner that I eventually entrusted them with our marketing and communications because they already understood our brands inside and out.
Now that I'm part of the Hark team, I get to see that same level of care from the inside. The intentionality, collaboration, and heart that I experienced as a client are exactly what happens behind the scenes every day. It's one of the reasons I was excited to join—and why I'm still proud to recommend Hark to anyone building a brand with purpose.
- Sam, Founder of Nestology Studio, Casita, and Party Tales|Working with Hark Studio has been a great experience from start to finish. They are incredibly easy to communicate with, responsive, and always open to feedback, which makes the entire process smooth and collaborative.
What stood out the most was their excellent execution. They took the time to truly understand our brand, our services, and our goals before proposing ideas.
They are also highly adaptable and quick to adjust whenever changes or new ideas come up, ensuring that everything stays aligned with our vision. Most importantly, they helped us achieve the goals we set for our brand through thoughtful strategy and strong execution. We highly recommend Hark Studio to any business looking for a creative, reliable, and results-driven partner!
- Rosanna, Founder of Ground zero indoor cycling studio and 7AM Pilates studio + cafe|Your passion, dedication, hard work, elegant style and outstanding creativity have resulted in the best website I could ever hope for. I love your work and everybody else who has seen our website. Thank you so much for putting your heart into this, especially in the middle of giving birth and being a graceful mother. You are an amazing woman, and so is your whole team for making all my customization wishes and dream website come true.
- Mirabel, Founder and CEO of Arao|Trusting your dream and vision to someone else is probably the scariest step to take. Grateful God introduced me to Kara and her team. The branding is everything I wanted and more. Thank you so much for making this so special for me.

Scroll through the steps!
01 Client Application
Fill out our application form and tell us about your business, goals, and what kind of support you're looking for. We'll carefully review your application to determine whether we're the right fit for this season of your business.
02 Discovery
If we feel like we're a good fit, we'll invite you to a discovery call to learn more about your goals, answer your questions, and walk you through our recommended services, process, timeline, and investment.
After the call, we'll send over a customized proposal. If everything feels aligned, we'll prepare the contract for your signature. Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid, your project is officially booked!
03 Clarity & Strategy
Before we create anything, we start by aligning. Through workshops, strategy sessions, and founder-focused conversations, we'll uncover what's working, identify opportunities for growth, and gain clarity around your brand, business, and goals. Together, we'll build a strategic foundation that guides every decision moving forward.
04 Build
This is where the vision starts taking shape. Depending on your chosen service, we'll move into branding, website design, development, or a combination of deliverables—all rooted in the clarity and strategy we've established together.
05 Launch
Once everything is polished and approved, it's time to launch! You'll walk away with more than deliverables—you'll leave with greater clarity, stronger confidence, and the tools to step into your next chapter with intention.
Frequently asked questions
-
We don't—and honestly, it's because we care too much about giving you something that actually works. A logo is just one piece of a much bigger picture. Without the strategy, positioning, and supporting identity behind it, even the most beautiful logo can fall flat.
Everything we offer is designed to help you build a strong foundation—not just a pretty visual.
-
Every Hark project includes a 1–2 hour Founder Clarity Session led by our Strategic Director, Sam.
Before we dive into branding or website design, we create space to step back and look at the bigger picture—your goals, challenges, opportunities, and the direction you're hoping to move toward. The purpose isn't to tell you what to do, but to help you gain clarity and confidence in the decisions you're making as a founder.
We believe many business owners don't just need a new logo or website—they need clarity. Sometimes that clarity is about positioning. Sometimes it's about growth. Sometimes it's about making a difficult decision or navigating a new season of business. By starting here, we're able to create brands and websites that are more strategic, more aligned, and ultimately more effective.
And because businesses don't exist separately from the people building them, we also recognize that our mindset, confidence, habits, and personal challenges often influence how we show up in our work. While the session is rooted in business and growth, we create space for conversations around leadership, mindset, and personal development when they're impacting your ability to move forward.
-
We're based in GMT+8 and typically work 9AM–5PM. If you're in a different timezone, no need to worry — we've built our process and tools to keep communication effective even when we're not online at the same time, so you're never stuck waiting for "business hours" to feel like progress is happening.
-
Absolutely—and honestly, we'd recommend it.
Starting with branding gives your website a much stronger foundation when you're ready for it. Your messaging, visual identity, and positioning will already be established, making the website process smoother and more effective.
-
You can—but we generally don't recommend it.
A website is an extension of your brand, so without a clear brand foundation, it often ends up feeling inconsistent or lacking a distinct personality. That's why we always encourage starting with branding first whenever possible.
If you've already worked with another designer and have an established brand, we're more than happy to design your website. At a minimum, we'll need your logo, color palette, brand fonts (including the actual font files if you're using custom fonts), and your brand guidelines if you have them. Existing icons, illustrations, or other brand assets are always a welcome bonus and help us create a richer, more cohesive website experience.
If you're unsure whether your existing branding is enough to move into web design, we'd be happy to review it during our discovery call and point you in the right direction.
-
We build on Squarespace and Shopify — and we'll help you figure out which one is right for you during your discovery call. Squarespace is ideal for service-based businesses and portfolios, while Shopify is better suited for product-based or e-commerce businesses. Both are user-friendly, low-maintenance, and built to grow with you.
You may learn more about the differences of both platforms here.
-
We do our best to protect it — kindly, but firmly, on both sides.
On our end, we only take on a limited number of projects at a time. That's intentional. It's what lets us actually hit deadlines instead of overpromising and letting things slip.
On your end, we'll ask for the same kind of care: timely feedback, and feedback that's consolidated rather than trickling in over several messages — that back-and-forth is usually the biggest thing that quietly stretches a timeline. We'll also ask for a sign-off at each milestone before moving forward. Once something's approved, we treat it as locked in, so we're not circling back to revisit decisions that have already been made.
That said, life happens. If something unexpected comes up on either side, we're always open to talking through what an extension might look like — communication is the thing that actually keeps a timeline healthy, not rigidity for its own sake.
Think of it less as a strict rulebook and more as us both showing up for the process the way it deserves. When we're both doing our part, timelines tend to take care of themselves.
-
Website copywriting isn't included in our packages — your site will be built with AI-assisted copy as a starting point and working draft. We highly recommend partnering with a professional copywriter to bring your messaging to life before or during the project. If you're not sure where to find one, we're happy to help point you in the right direction during your discovery call!
-
Yes — as a tool, never as the output. We might use it to speed up research or organize our process behind the scenes, but the things you're actually paying for — your logo, your illustrations, your brand identity, your website design — are made by us, from scratch, for you. That also means what you walk away with is genuinely yours — not something pulled from a shared training set or handed to a dozen other businesses that typed a similar prompt.
As mentioned above, website copywriting works a little differently: we use AI-assisted copy as a starting draft, and we recommend a professional copywriter to bring it fully to life. But for everything visual, the thinking and the output come from us. That part, we don't hand off.
-
Not as much as you might think — that's what we're here for. It helps to come with a general sense of your business, your audience, and what you feel isn't working right now. Beyond that, we'll guide you through everything else together during onboarding.
-
Our standard payment schedule is 50/50—a 50% deposit secures your slot and officially kicks off your project, while the remaining 50% is due before your final files, website, or deliverables are handed over.
If you need a little more flexibility, let us know. We're always happy to have a conversation and see if there's a payment arrangement that works well for both of us.
-
We recommend reaching out at least 4–6 weeks before your ideal start date, as our slots fill up quickly. The earlier you apply, the better your chances of securing your preferred timeline. If you're not quite ready to start yet, you're still welcome to apply — we can always schedule you for a future slot.
-
Of course — that's exactly what the discovery call is for. If you're unsure, just select 'Not sure yet' on the application form and tell us a little about where you are and what you're hoping to achieve. We'll figure out the best path forward together.
